Eight Tones Music School was established in 2014 by local Singaporean musicians who met through their love for traditional Chinese music and are actively involved in the local Chinese orchestra scene. With over 1,000 students enrolled and 500 lessons weekly, Eight Tones Music School is the biggest Chinese Music school in Singapore, specialising in providing lessons in playing traditional Chinese music instruments for the following: Dizi, Erhu, Guzheng, Guqin, Hulusi, Liuqin, Pipa, Sheng, and Ruan. We have a strong and dedicated teaching team that will help you with whatever you need in your Chinese musical instrumental journey.

Join their Pipa courses designed to cater to musicians of all ages and skill levels. Master the essential techniques of playing the Pipa through utilizing original Pipa course materials and a syllabus meticulously designed and curated by our qualified instructors.

Their instructors will guide you through your musical journey with their wide repertoire of music in different folk styles and in even genres like pop and jazz. They welcome you with open arms even if you are a beginner with no prior background in Chinese music. Students who wish to learn for leisure need not take the Pipa grading exams. However, if you would like to take the Pipa grading exams, we can prepare you according to both the syllabuses from the Confucius Academy – NTU as well as from NAFA – Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing.

Lessons are offered both on site and online.
